FAQs

What is Twilight Team?

Short evening visits by RNs focused on bedtime support, med safety, and emotional reassurance.

Who provides the care?

All visits are currently by the RN founders (Emily & Hannah). As we grow, only carefully selected clinicians will join.

What’s included in each visit and how long is it?

See our Services page for details and options.

Are you like home health or hospice?

No, but we’re here to help in a different way. Our team provides high-quality, private-pay evening care led by experienced registered nurses. We don’t replace home health or primary care services. Instead, we complement them by offering thoughtful in-home support—things like observation, comfort tasks, and professional nursing judgment within the RN scope of practice.

We’re not a home health agency, so we don’t diagnose conditions, start new treatments, or perform services that require a doctor’s order. What we do offer is consistent, attentive care that supports your existing care plan and gives families valuable clinical insight to help advocate for their loved ones. If your loved one needs skilled medical tasks—like injections, catheter changes, or wound care—we recommend continuing with a licensed home health or hospice provider for those specific services.

Do you take insurance?

Not at this time. We’re private pay. HSA/FSA and long-term care policies may reimburse.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes—Twilight Team is fully licensed and insured. All care is provided by active RNs.

What areas do you serve?

Elizabethton, Johnson City, and surrounded areas. Expansion plans are underway based on demand.

Do you come on the same days each week?

Not always. Since we are a small, RN-led team with full-time careers and young families, our availability may shift slightly from week to week. However, we always open multiple evening slots and do our best to offer flexibility based on your needs. Families who schedule bundle plans or recurring visits will receive priority in scheduling.

Is there a contract?

No. All services are offered without long-term contracts.

What’s your cancellation policy?

We ask for 12 hours' notice for cancellations. Last-minute cancellations may be billed unless due to emergency or hospitalization.

Do you offer overnight care?

No, Twilight Team offers scheduled evening visits only. We are not available for overnight stays, live-in shifts, or on-call response between visits.

What kind of hands-on help do you provide?

Twilight Team visits are built around practical, supportive care that helps your loved one wind down safely and comfortably. We assist with pajamas, hygiene, toileting, and evening setup—making sure the space feels safe, calm, and ready for rest. We also perform safety and skin checks, medication reminders (from your existing planner or blister pack), and basic comfort support.

If a routine is already in place, we may check vitals, empty catheter or ostomy bags, or reinforce clean dressings—as long as those tasks don’t involve sterile procedures or new medical instructions. Our nurses also provide gentle companionship, a consistent presence, and a trained eye for changes in comfort or behavior. And yes—if your loved one would enjoy a cup of tea, a small snack, or fresh sheets turned down, we’re happy to help with those little things too.

Are there things Twilight Team doesn’t provide?

Yes—and setting clear expectations helps us provide the safest and most effective care. While our nurses are warm, hands-on, and happy to help in small ways, we don’t provide full housekeeping services such as doing laundry, cleaning rooms, or preparing full meals. We also don’t run errands, handle transportation, or assist with scheduling outside appointments.

We’re not equipped for full physical transfers or lifting. If your loved one needs help moving between bed and chair, or requires repositioning with a device, we recommend pairing our visits with a mobility aide or caregiver. That said, we’re happy to cue safe movement, help with gentle transitions, and support fall prevention strategies.

Our goal is focused, high-quality care—so while we won’t scrub the kitchen or lift heavy items, we’re more than happy to make a cup of tea, refill a glass of water, offer a prepared snack, or adjust the room for comfort. It’s about thoughtful, helpful touches that fit naturally into the visit.
